A graveside service for Larry Ray Willson, 50, a former Minden resident, will be at 2 p.m. at The Gardens Cemetery in Minden.
Mr. Willson was died Sept. 17, 2003 at home in Yucaipa, Calif., after a five-year battle with Lou Gehrig's disease. He was born Sept. 22, 1952 in Minden.
He loved skiing and flying. He was an avid and accomplished pilot of powered airplanes and gliders. Mr. Willson was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and built his own plane. He also directed several airshows in Southern California.
Mr. Willson graduated from Douglas High School in 1970. He received a business degree from the University of Nevada and a master's degree from Michigan State University.
Mr. Willson was manager in San Bernardino, Calif., for 25 years at Pullens Appliances, Inland Valley Development Agency and the San Bernardino School District.
Among his survivors are his daughter, Amber; mother and stepfather, Barbara and Bob Blenkinsop of Fresno, Calif.; siste Janet Adams of Fresno; and companion, Gloria Justis.
FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville is in charge of arrangements.
