Glamis Gold Ltd.
of Reno said last week that the Department of the Interior Board of Land Appeals rejected a delay of the expansion of Glamis' Marigold Mine.
The mine is 35 miles southeast of Winnemucca.
Western Exploration Inc.
requested that work on the expansion project be halted while the Interior Department reviews Western Exploration's appeal of the agency's approval of the project.
In rejecting the request, the board of land appeals said Western Exploration hadn't shown that its appeal has a reasonable probability of succeeding.
The appeal itself remains pending, but Glamis said it's continuing work on the Marigold expansion in the meantime.
