A 38-year-old Carson City man has pleaded guilty in Douglas County District Court to one count of battery causing substantial bodily harm with use of a deadly weapon, a felony.
Stephen Morse also pleaded no contest to one count of false imprisonment with use of a deadly weapon.
The first charge is punishable by one to 15 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine. Morse faces one to six years in prison for the second charge. He can be given probation by the judge.
The charges stem from a November 2002 incident in which he allegedly imprisoned a 19-year-old Carson City man and struck him in the knees, breaking at least one kneecap. Morse reportedly held the man against his will over several days by breaking his knee cap, choking him with a Ziptie and stabbing him in the leg.
Morse was arrested late last month in the 2000 block of Lone Mountain Road in Carson City.
Morse's sentencing is scheduled for May 24 before District Court Judge Michael Gibbons. Morse remains in Douglas County jail on $25,000 bail.
If he makes bail, he is to have a hearing in court before being released.
