An informal gathering to remember Bozena Krausova, 89, a Carson City resident for the past 45 years, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at FitzHenry's Funeral Home for friends wishing to say a final goodbye before her remains are sent to the Czech Republic for inurnment.
Mrs. Krausova died Aug. 10, 2004, at Eagle Valley Care Center. She was born Nov. 2, 1914, in Prostejov, Czechoslovakia, to Jan and Anna Kraus.
She spent the years of World War II in Prague, Czechoslovakia, as a hairdresser. In the late 1940s, she immigrated to the United States, and on June 27, 1950, she became a naturalized citizen.
Mrs. Krausova and her husband, Ruggero Gili, came to Carson City in 1959 and operated Ruggero's Hair Salon on East John Street. After her retirement in 1970, she traveled to many countries, and while in Carson City, she enjoyed Carson Hot Springs daily.
Among her survivors are her nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews, all living in the Czech Republic.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
