A memorial service for John Paul Miller, 86, a Jacks Valley resident for the past 15 years, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hilltop Community Church.
Mr. Miller died July 29, 2004, at home. He was born Sept. 13, 1917, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Guy and Ida Meyer Miller.
Before moving to Jacks Valley, he lived in Modesto, Calif.
Mr. Miller was a minister at La Loma Grace Brethren Church in Modesto for 20 years. He built several homes in California, including the home he and his wife lived in.
He enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of Hilltop Community Church.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was preceded in death by brother, Don.
Among his survivors are his wife, Ellen F. of Carson City; daughters Marylee Berger of Carson City and Joan Blackmon of Portola Valley, Calif.; sister, Vera Erteld of Kansas City, Kan.; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
