A crusade on Sept. 10-11 at Carson High School in Senator Square will feature Evangelist Duane Rens from Las Vegas.

The crusade will focus on healing, both physical and spiritual.

"Our goal is to get as many people as possible to come who need a miracle," said the Rev. Don Honzay, coordinator of the event. "Not only physical miracles, but spiritual miracles, also.

"When people ask for Christ to come into their heart, that's a miracle right there. The most important thing in life is to have a relationship with God."

The crusade will begin at 7:30 p.m. each day. Rens will also offer a message to those seeking more on Christ.

Honzay also welcomes "doubters" of physical healing to see what will take place.

"Every crusade I've attended, I've seen a miracle with my own eyes," Honzay said.

"When you see it with your own eyes, how can you doubt it? We don't have mirrors or staged healings. We actually try to test people before and after to prove what has taken place."

Honzay said what he is doing is for the community. There are many people who suffer because there is nothing further their doctors can do for them.

"They say they've done all they can. We want to help them. We welcome anyone, at no charge. It is completely open to the public."

Revs has been in the ministry and evangelism business for about 25 years. Originally from Michigan, he has lived in Las Vegas for 16 years.

Honzay recently moved to Carson City, where he is the new pastor of Potter's House Christian Fellowship at 264 Winnie Lane.

Honzay has been married 18 years to Sylvia, and they have home-schooled daughters Micah, 17, and Dominique, 14.

Sylvia helps with the ministry at the church and plays the drums.

"She's pretty good, actually," Honzay said.

Honzay was a pastor from 1989 to 1991 in Las Vegas, after starting a church.

"I stopped pastoring for a while, but was still with the Potter's House church. I had to let God do some things in my life that needed to be done so I could come back to pastoring."

Honzay said Carson City has a small-town feeling and very friendly people.

"It's very nice here," he said.

"I think it's the perfect place for a healing crusade. And the message to be offered will be about faith and based on miracles and what Jesus did.

"We're doing this for people who are outside of the church and the city of Carson. We want to do this once a year for the community. And we're talking of doing it more often."
