A memorial service for Wilma Olive Cawelti, 83, a Carson City area resident for the past 41 years, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at FitzHenry's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cawelti died Dec. 2, 2004, at Evergreen Mountainview Care Center of Alzheimer's. She was born July 21, 1921, in Taft, Calif., to Albert Ray and Olive Rosita Hopkins Bivins.
She graduated from the third nursing class at Washoe Medical Center on Jan. 23, 1959, as a licensed practical nurse.
She married Laurence Cawelti of California May 28, 1938, in Las Vegas.
Before moving to this area, she lived in Reno and various California cities.
Mrs. Cawelti worked as a licensed practical nurse from 1959 to 1986. She was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husband in July 1982 and three babies.
Among her survivors are her sister, Kathryn Mifflin of Taft, Calif.; son, Lawrence E. of Salmon, Idaho; daughters Judith M. Davis of Pryor, Okla., Janet E. Kruse and Cynthia A. Brent both of Reno and Christine L. Johnston of Las Vegas; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
