Brother of murder suspect arrested on Carson warrant

A Los Angeles man with connections to a Carson City killing was arrested Tuesday by Southgate, Calif., police.

Saul Cisneros, 20, was booked into the Los Angeles County Jail at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday on a Carson City warrant for felony probation violation and two Southgate warrants for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

Cisneros is the brother of Maximiliano Cisneros, 22, wanted in the killing of Juan Carlos Alegria, 23, and the wounding of Fidel Fuentes, 22, on May 25 at West Eighth and Nevada streets in Carson City. An arrest warrant for Maximiliano Cisneros charges him with murder and attempted murder. It's believed he has fled to Mexico.

Saul Cisneros pleaded guilty Oct. 18 to conspiracy to traffic drugs and was given a suspended sentence of 12 to 30 months.

According to the arrest report, Cisneros was connected to eight weapons, 62.6 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 1,500 rounds of ammunition found in a June 25 raid of a storage shed. The report indicates Cisneros was trying to get someone in Carson City to pay the storage fee so he wouldn't lose access to the units.

Carson City Sheriff's Detective Cate Summers said Cisneros failed to report to parole and probation following his release from the Carson City Jail. A warrant for his arrest was signed by Judge Michael Griffin on Nov. 29.

Summers said Cisneros recently was shot during an altercation in Los Angeles and suffered a serious chest wound. He has since recovered from that injury.

It's expected that he will be extradited to Carson City to face a potential prison sentence in the probation violation.

Cisneros is being held in Los Angeles on $32,000 bail.
