Like his palm trees, Ben Pierce's Reno Palms continues to grow.
Pierce, a recent graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno, sells palm trees that can survive the cooler Nevada climate.
He has received orders from customers from as far as New York and Texas via the company's Web site, and plans an appearance at the 30th Annual Home & Garden Show presented by Lockett & Sullivan on April 8-10.
"It's going to be huge for my business,"he says.
"It's so hard for people to really get a good feel for the trees until they see for themselves."
In addition, Pierce added another nursery Dry Creek Garden Co. that now carries his trees while adding larger palms to his inventory.
