Veteran Reno broadcaster Adrienne Abbott was busy early this year as a volunteer, tracking down and interviewing pioneer broadcasters in the state.
The project overseen by the Nevada Broadcasters Association continues although it's not moving as quickly as organizers hoped.
Bob Fisher of Las Vegas, one of those overseeing the work, says volunteers conducted interviews with eight broadcast pioneers this year.
Originally, they hoped to interview as many as 20.
Two of the interviews proved particularly valuable, Fisher says, as the broadcast pioneers died a short time later and would have taken their memories of the industry with them to the grave.
