Fred B.
Holman, Ph.D., has been named vice provost for extended studies at the University of Nevada, Reno, where he will oversee the university's outreach efforts in continuing and distance education, as well as the ongoing development of the Redfield Campus in south Reno and the Fire Science Academy in Carlin.
Holman was previously dean of continuing and adult education at St.
Thomas University in Miami, Fla.
He received his doctorate in higher education administration from the University of Iowa and holds a master of arts degree in history from Truman State University (formerly Northeast Missouri State University).
