A funeral Mass for Edward James Linehan, 83, a Carson City resident for the past nine years, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
Mr. Linehan died Dec. 31, 2003, at his home. He was born Sept. 8, 1920, in White Plains, N.Y., to Miles and Margaret Linehan.
He graduated from Amenia High School in Amenia, N.Y. Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Pasadena, Calif.
He married Geraldine April 17, 1945, in Pasadena.
Mr. Linehan was a fire captain with the Pasadena Fire Department for 27 years, from March 31, 1947 to June 30, 1975. He was a member of the Pasadena Elks Lodge, the Knights of Columbus of Pasadena and St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Community.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Miles.
Among his survivors are his wife of Carson City; daughters and sons -in-law Marie and Michael Foster of South Lake Tahoe, Diane and Frank Primka and Janet and Paul St. Amant, and son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Debra, all of Carson City; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one niece.
Burial will be at Lone Mountain Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Hospice.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
