A funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday for Helen M. Springer, 82, a Carson City resident for 17 years, at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith in Carson City. Mrs. Springer died Jan. 1, 2004 at Eagle Valley Care Center.
Born May 24, 1921, in Dixon, Ill., to Edward and Barbara Schmelphfenning Lennox, she enjoyed crocheting and crafts.
Mrs. Springer came to Carson City from Dixon, Ill., where she worked for Borg-Warner Co. for many years. She was a volunteer at the library for the blind and handicapped. She was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
Mrs. Springer was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
She is survived by a stepson, Richard Darwin of Spring City, Tenn.; a stepdaughter Darlene Dawn Stockton of Jamestown, Tenn.; daughters Joan Barnhart and Patsy Stultz of Carson City; nieces, nephews, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Dixon, Ill.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home in Carson City is in charge of arrangements.
