A Silver Springs man will be sentenced to up to six years in prison Feb. 18 after pleading guilty to driving drunk following an accident July 2002 in which three people died.
Mark Fejervary, 49, pleaded guilty Monday in Yerington before Lyon County District Judge Archie Blake to one count of felony drunken driving.
In a hearing Dec. 19, 2003, a judge determined there wasn't enough evidence to try Fejervary in the deaths of Robert Marek, 15; his grandfather, Harold Marek, 60, and neighbor Louis Norton, 15.
Fejervary was southbound on Highway 95A near Spruce Street in Silver Springs when he struck Harold Marek's car as Marek tried to cross the highway.
Fejervary's .25 blood alcohol content was more than three times the legal limit. But Justice Court Judge William Rogers found the accident was unavoidable.
Fejervary was convicted in March 2001, prior to the fatal accident, of drunken driving and again in May, 10, months after the July accident.
On Sept. 27, an allegedly drunken Fejervary pointed a loaded shotgun at Edward Hixson, 73, when Hixson refused to allow him into his motor home parked behind a gas station in Mustang, according to a Washoe County police report.
He was charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon, and could potentially be charged with drunken driving there, said Washoe County Deputy District Attorney Elliott Sattler II.
Fejervary remains in the Lyon County Jail without bail.
