James V. West, 81, a Carson City resident for the past eight years, died Jan. 9 2004, at his home in Carson City.
Born April 16, 1922, in Washington to Vernon and Edythe Norduff West, he married Peggy Aronson on Nov. 20, 1955, in Las Vegas. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. West was a proofreader for the Los Angeles Times. He lived in Whittier, Calif., prior to moving to Carson City.
Mr. West is survived by his wife of 48 years; sons Michael of Aliso Viejo, Calif., and Mark of Hermosa Beach, Calif.; and a granddaughter Jaime of Hermosa Beach.
No services are scheduled.
A memorial has been established with St. Mary's Hospice, 3264 Goni Road, Ste. 151, Carson City, NV 89706.
Capitol City Cremation and Burial Society in Carson City is in charge of arrangements.
