A memorial service for Helen Lee Jones, 59, a Dayton resident for eight years, will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Carson City.
Mrs. Jones died Jan. 12, 2004, in Dayton. She was born Nov. 22, 1944, in Compton, Calif., to William Miles Jr. and Leona Dutton.
She married Buck Jones on April 30, 1983, in Las Vegas.
Prior to living in Dayton, she lived in Carson City.
She was formerly a caregiver for Sierra Convalescent Center and was a beautician for many years.
Mrs. Jones was the neighborhood "mom" to many children.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son Jess Robins.
Among her survivors are her husband of Carson City; son Steven Ice of Modesto, Calif.; daughter Tina Swanner and husband Mike Hinman of Dayton; sister, Susan Birdsong of Gridley, Calif.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Cremation is under the direction of Walton's Sierra Crematory in Carson City.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City is in charge of arrangements.
