William 'Bill' Brown

William "Bill" Brown of Sparks died July 11, 2004, in Tennessee following lung and heart problems.

Mr. Brown was born Oct. 4, 1929, to Lillian Carr and Jerry Brown and grew up in California's San Fernando Valley. He was a veteran of the Korean War and worked as a meat cutter for more than 50 years. He worked at the Piggly Wiggly Market in Sunland, Calif., and several other stores in the San Fernando Valley before moving to Carson City about 30 years ago where worked for Butler Meat Co. and then Butcher Boy in Sparks.

Mr. Brown is survived by his daughter Robyn Brown and daughter and son-in-law Dawn and Mark Leniger; grandchildren Jake, Charlie, and Tommy Leniger all of Nashville, Tenn.; four nieces, two nephews, five grandnieces, four grandnephews, and two great-grandnephews; cousin Jim Cary of Ridgecrest, Calif.; and his sister in-law Wanda Brown of Gardnerville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Elona, and Dewila (Dee), and brothers Loyal (Jim) and Everald (E.J.), his grandaughter Melissa and nephews Robert Brown and Bruce Collier and great-grandnephew Courtland.

Mr. Brown enjoyed people and telling stories and always had one to tell.

The family will hold a private memorial.
