Beatrice May LaPorte

Beatrice May LaPorte, 79, a Silver Springs resident for the past 10 years, died July 20, 2004, in Silver Springs. She was born Jan. 30, 1925, in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., to Forrest and Grace Herrick.

Before moving to Silver Springs, she lived in Chatsworth, Calif.

Mrs. LaPorte worked for Boeing for many years. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Cooties. She enjoyed macramé, crocheting, sewing and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, who died in April 2004.

Among her survivors is a very close friend, Roberta Paquette of Silver Springs.

Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory. A memorial service is pending. Burial will be beside her husband in the Fernley Veterans Cemetery.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
