Gary D. Strand

Gary D. Strand, 64, a Minden resident for the past three years, died July 22, 2004, at home. He was born Feb. 14, 1940, in San Jose, Calif., to Dean A. and Evangeline Alves Strand.

Before moving to Minden, he lived in San Jose.

Mr. Strand was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, San Jose 401; the Sierra Sagebrush Flyers Club and several car clubs. He enjoyed building remote control model airplanes.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Among his survivors are his wife, Ruth of Minden; and his children, stepdaughter and husband Deborah and Gary Joyner, and grandchildren Kohl and Kylah Joyner, all of San Jose.

At his request, no service will be held.

Capitol City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
