MINDEN - A man suspected of assaulting a female Carson City jogger in February waived his right to a speedy trial Wednesday on sexual assault and kidnapping charges in Douglas County.

Adam Garcia's attorney Terri Roeser told East Fork Justice Court Judge Jim EnEarl on Wednesday she needs more time to review the Carson City accusations.

"There is some reference to a case in Carson City and we want to look into that," Roeser said.

The 23-year-old will appear in court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing to determine if there is enough evidence for a trial in district court.

He reportedly told Carson City Sheriff's Office investigators he was responsible for a Feb. 24 incident near Minnesota and Washington Street in Carson City in which the jogger reported she was dragged across a street by a man. She reportedly bit him in the hand and escaped as he drove off.

Garcia told Douglas County Sheriff's Office investigators that he tried to pull a female jogger into his car about 6:15 a.m. May 16 on Centerville Lane in Gardnerville.

That woman escaped and called police.

He also allegedly admitted accosting a woman about 9 a.m. April 24 as she walked her dog in the Gardnerville Ranchos sandpits.

Garcia is listed on the Nevada sex offender's Web site, www.nv.sexoffenders.gov.

The database lists those who are registered sex offenders in the state and are likely to re-offend. Those who are not likely to offend again are not listed.

The Web site became available to the public in May, according to the Nevada Department of Public Safety.

The department is required by law to list names, aliases and, if available, a photograph.

Garcia was convicted in 2001 in California for sex offenses with someone younger than 18.
