A memorial service for Billy Joseph Hobbs, 52, a Gardnerville resident for the past 19 years, will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City.
Mr. Hobbs died June 26, 2004, in an accident in Genoa. He was born Feb. 7, 1952, in Los Angeles to Billy J. Sr. and Laura Greene Hobbs.
He attended high school in Ontario, Calif., and graduated from Chaffey Community College.
He married Leslie Greenwood on Oct. 29, 1977, in Mount Baldy, Calif.
Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Southern California.
Mr. Hobbs was a mechanical engineer for LSP Products in Carson City. He loved motorcycles. He played volleyball in the Gardnerville Recreation Program for the past 10 years.
Among his survivors are his wife of Gardnerville; sisters Pamila Sterka of North Carolina and Darlene Sackett of Ohio; four nephews; two nieces; and three great-nieces.
Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.
