A memorial service for Fred G. Kinerson, 83, a Schurz resident for the past 80 years, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Schurz Tribal Gymnasium. Inurnment will follow with military honors at the Schurz Cemetery.
Mr. Kinerson died March 5, 2004, in Yerington. He was born Dec. 9, 1920, to George and Anna Kinerson.
He worked in the mining industry and retired from Kennametal Co. in 1983. He was also a rancher and enjoyed the outdoors.
Mr. Kinerson served in the U.S. Army under the 67th Armed Infantry Battalion.
Among his survivors are his wife, Elveda; and children Everett, Wilfred, Fred Jr., Lonnie and Annie.
Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
