A memorial Mass for Evo A. Granata, 82, a Carson City resident for the past 36 years, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Little Flower Catholic Church, corner of Plum and Kietzke streets, in Reno. Visitation will be from noon-8 p.m. Monday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mr. Granata died March 17, 2004, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born June 30, 1921, in Reno, to Edward and Marie Deonisi Granata.

He was a 1949 graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno and San Francisco College of Accounting.

He married Lucy Heaton on June 15, 1951, in Reno.

Before moving to Carson City, he was the Elko County assessor from 1955-1967. He was a Public Service commissioner for the state of Nevada from 1967-1979. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church and a former member of the American Legion in Elko. He enjoyed computers and riding horses.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Manuel, in 2000.

Among his survivors are his wife and children Dawn Granata, Ruth Granata and John Granata, all of Carson City; two grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1281 Terminal Way, Reno, NV 89502.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
