Gov.
Kenny Guinn appointed Dr.
Charles Held of Gardnerville to the State Board of Medical Examiners.
Held has been practicing in Nevada since 1979 and moved his practice from Reno to Gardnerville in February of 2002, where he is in private practice specializing in pulmonary medicine and sleep disorder.
He has served on the staff of several area hospitals, including St.
Mary's Hospital, Northern Nevada Medical Center,Washoe Medical Center, Carson-Tahoe Hospital, Veterans' Administration Hospital, and as a clinical associate professor of Medicine at the University of Nevada.
He is currently on the consulting staff of South Lyon Medical Center in Yerington and Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe.
Held succeeds Dr.
Robin Titus of Wellington.
