Erin Casey has been named associate director of the Tahoe Rim Trail Association.
After graduation from Northern Michigan University with a bachelor's degree in ecology, Casey took a job as a whitewater rafting guide for the Appalachian Wildwater Co.

National Recreation Trail designation has been given to 96 miles of the 165-mile Tahoe Rim trail, recognizing outstanding recreational values of a trail system.
Built and maintained by volunteers, the trail winds through two states, six counties, three national forests, state parkland and three wilderness areas.
