The first homes sites at Del Webb's Sierra Canyon active living community went on sale last month, and sales have been "brisk," according to Judy Bennett, director of community affairs at the division of Bloomfield,Mich.-based Pulte Homes Inc.
Sierra Canyon is part of the Somersett development in northwest Reno.
Del Webb expects to build 850 homes there, based on six model types priced between $250,000 and $380,000.
Bennett said the company won't release sales figures until the development's grand opening in late summer.
"It's hot," said Bennett.
"It is a very popular location.We're not even advertising it at this point."
Bennett said earlier that Del Webb had about 3,000 people on its waiting list for Sierra Canyon development.
