Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday for Justin Corey Nicholas Wade Nelson, who died May 24 at Washoe Medical Center in Reno of injuries received from an automobile accident. He was 17.
Nelson was born in Carson City on Aug. 27, 1986, to Todd and Vicki (Hathaway) Nelson. At 12, he was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes and was home-schooled. Nelson worked part-time at Napa Auto Parts in Gardnerville. He loved people and life and loved to help others in any way he could.
He is survived by his mother, Vicki Hathaway; brother Ryan and sister Debbie; his grandparents Gary and Carol Hathaway; his aunt and uncle Gary and Chris Hathaway; and his cousin Brandon Hathaway.
The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Valley Christian Fellowship Church in Gardnerville. A reception will follow.
A memorial fund has been established at the heritage Bank in Carson City by the Topaz Lodge and Casino. The Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home in Yerington is administering the arrangements.
