The Las Vegas law firm of Kummer Kaempfer Bonner & Renshaw has opened a Reno office headed by State Sen.Mark Amodei.
The office will concentrate on business issues such as creation of new businesses, real estate, commercial litigation, government affairs, corporate transactions and securities questions.
Joining Amodei in the Reno office of Kummer Kaempfer Bonner & Renshaw are attorneys Kathleen Drakulich and Jim Puzey.
Amodei, a native of Carson City and a graduate of the McGeorge School of Law, has been practicing law more than 20 years.
Elected to the state senate in 1997, he serves as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Drakulich previously worked 12 years as associate general counsel for Sierra Pacific Power Co.
and Nevada Power Co.
In addition, she served as lead in-house legislative counsel for the utilities during the 1999, 2001 and 2003 legislative sessions.
She's a graduate of the McGeorge School of Law.
Puzey joined the firm of Allison, MacKenzie,Harman, Soumbeniotis & Russel in Carson City after his graduation from McGeorge School of Law.He became a partner in the Carson City firm in 2001.
Before he began his legal career, Puzey played professional baseball with the St.
Louis Cardinals organization.
Kummer Kaempfer Bonner & Renshaw this year marks its 10th year in business.
Its founders all previously practiced as partners in the longtime Nevada firm Vargas & Bartlett.
The firm has leased office space at 8600 Technology Way in South Meadows, and is planning to build its own office in south Reno.
