A father received probation for felony possession of marijuana, and his son must complete drug treatment, a Carson City judge determined.
Alberto Fuentes Sr., 45, pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana with intent to sell and will serve three years' probation in lieu of 32 months in jail stemming from his Feb. 5 arrest.
His son, Luis Fuentes, 22, will have his charges dismissed if he successfully completes drug treatment, Judge Bill Maddox determined last week.
The Fuenteses were arrested during simultaneous raids at their business, Taqueria Urupan Mexican Restaurant, on Goni Road and their home on Tenaya Drive. Also arrested was wife and mother, Martina Fuentes, 44. Her charges were dropped.
During the raid, Deputy Bob Guimont suffered a superficial flesh wound when another SWAT member's weapon accidentally discharged.
A dozen firearms were found in the home, along with a pound of marijuana and counter-surveillance equipment.
On Aug. 6, 1998, Luis Fuentes, Luis Eduardo Jacobo and Clint Jacobo were shot as they walked in a field east of Piñon Plaza.
Clint Jacobo died from his wounds.
His killers were never caught, although police identified two teenage suspects.
