A public celebration of life for Robert Clyde McFadden, 55, a Carson City resident for the past 32 years, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the St. Charles Hotel Complex, 310 S. Carson St.
Mr. McFadden died Nov. 16, 2004, in Costa Rica. He was born Oct. 29, 1949, in Fullerton, Calif., to John W. and Beverly Ann McFadden.
He attended Lowell High School in Whittier, Calif., and Western Nevada Community College.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in La Habra, Calif.
Mr. McFadden was a real estate broker, a manufactured- home dealer, an entrepreneur and a Nevada art historian and collector. He was a member of the Carson City Community Development Department, the Nevada Museum of Art, the Board of Realtors, recipient of the Historic Preservation Award and Governor's Tourism Award and winner of Legends Volleyball Tournament 2004.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1970 to 1972.
He was preceded in death by his mother in 1993, grandmother Elizabeth Cross in 1994, and niece Michelle McFadden in 2003.
Among his survivors are his son Robert C. Jr. and daughters Julie Ann Sproles, Carson Kelley McFaddden and Shawnee McFadden, all of Carson City; father and sister, Lisa McFadden, both of Rancho Mirage, Calif.; brother, Kurt William of Oceanside, Calif.; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private family burial will be Friday at Lone Mountain Cemetery.
