A private funeral Mass for Carmen Inez Bilbao Nelson, 83, a Minden resident for the past 10 years, will be at Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel in Reno. There will be private visitation.
Mrs. Nelson died Oct. 1, 2004, in Minden. She was born Sept. 16, 1921, in Jordan Valley, Ore., to Nicholas and Carmen Rica Bilbao.
She attended schools in Boise, Idaho, and graduated from St. Teresa's Academy in Boise.
She married Edward Nelson April 7, 1941, in Boise. He preceded her in death April 8, 1994, in Reno.
Before moving to Minden, she lived in Carson City for 17 years, coming from Reno.
Mrs. Nelson worked for Idaho First National Bank in Boise and later for First National Bank of Nevada. She was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church and the Basque Club.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters Pilar Bilbao, Martina Erickson and Rosie Games; and grandson Dennis Lauderbaugh.
Among her survivors are her children and their spouses James and Margaret Nelson of Ely, Nickie and Tony Trevino of Sparks, Christine and George Thiel of Minden and William and Maria Nelson of Carson City; sister, Margaret Asla of Boise; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery.
