Shoe Pavilion and Clearwire leased space at Firecreek Crossing in south Reno.
Shoe Pavilion will occupy a 17,500- square-foot space formerly occupied by Michael's.
It sells off-price designer and name-brand shoes.
The chain, founded in 1979 and headquartered in Pinole, Calif., has 87 stores in five western states.
The location, says Bob Hall, chief executive officer, was chosen because it was centrally located, with good visibility and desirable co-tenants.
Reno's growth attracted the chain into northern Nevada, says Hall.
Clearwire will lease 5,000 square feet of space, sharing a building with Countrywide Home Loans.
Clearwire offers wireless broadband connections for Internet access.
Christopher C.Waizmann, vice president of retail for Trammell Crow Co., represented the landlord,American Assets of San Diego, in the lease negotiations.
