The Reno/Sparks Association of Realtors honored Reno Mayor Bob Cashell with its "Abraham Curry Award." Curry, the "Father of Carson City," donated the four-acre plaza that's the site of the state capitol.
The Association of Realtors said its award honors distinguished service to the real estate industry and community.
Ben Scheible, an instructor at Truckee Meadows Community College, received the association's Educator of the Year Award.
The award is based on instructor evaluation scores, comments and involvement in the Realtor organization and the community.
Dan Rider, agent/broker with Dickson Realty, was named Realtor of the Year.
Annie Grogan, a sales representative with Fidelity National Home Warranty was named Affiliate of the Year.
George Peek, owner/president of Valley Realty & Investments, received the Mat Gibbons Memorial Award.
The award recognizes a Realtor for distinguished volunteer service to the profession and community.
