Far West Technologies is on target with plans to break ground near Lovelock next spring for a facility to manufacture composite building systems.

The massive plant will have 10 acres under roof.

The company plans to hire 1,500 employees within three years.

It will start with 300 to 500 next summer, and swell the workforce to over 600 by year end.

"It's a matter of how fast the town can grow to house them," says Bob Patterson, president of Far West Technologies.

The workforce will include assembly people, security, equipment operators, shipping, receiving, engineers and information technology workers.

Roy Hibdon of Reno, head of the Far West engineering department, will handle the infrastructure engineering.
