A funeral for Edwina Dean Miller, 72, a Woodfords resident, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Woodfords Fire House at the Hung-A-Lel-Ti Community in Woodfords.
Mrs. Miller died Jan 28, 2005. She was born Feb. 22, 1932, in Sheridan, to Ed Miller and Leta Bagley. She was a member of the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California.
She lived most of her life in Woodfords and spent some time in Loyalton, Calif.
She married Gilbert Sam and they had one child who died as an infant. She then married Lehman Miller and had two children Carlene Miller Mose of West Point, Calif., and Myron Miller of Susanville, Calif. She had a common-law marriage with Woodrow Wilson until his death.
Mrs. Miller worked as a motel worker in her younger years.
She became a homemaker and made acorn biscuits for many functions and quilts for her relatives' newborn babies. She was a fluent Washoe speaker and always willing to help others.
In addition to her daughter, she was preceded in death by brothers Edwin, Gilmore and Clayton Miller and sisters Juanita Miller Snooks, Vivian Miller and a baby sister.
Burial will follow at the Woodfords Indian Cemetery.
