Robert Noland, Sylvia Samono, Steve Snyder and David Clark are among nine new trustees of the The DRI Research Foundation, the fundraising arm of the Desert Research Institute.

Noland of Carson City is a mechanical engineer and chairman of Myricom Inc., which designs, develops and manufactures ultra high-speed switches and interfaces for supercomputer and enterprise applications.He has worked as chief executive officer or chief operating officer for companies including Ametek, Ketema, and Haveg.

Samano, president of SBC-Nevada,works in Reno and has more than 26 years of experience in the telecommunications industry.

She has held management positions with SBC in marketing, public relations, advertising and government affairs.

Snyder, former Lyon County manager, spent 30 years in public service.He worked for the governor ofWyoming serving as local government liaison, taught geology at the college level, and worked as a city and county manager.

He now works in the private sector.

Clark, previously chief executive officer and chairman of Clark & Sullivan Constructors, recently retired and launched a development/construction company, Janus Land and Building Co.
