A graveside service for Betty M. Brown Bartow, 87, a Fernley resident, will be Friday at Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier, Calif.
Mrs. Bartow died Feb. 14, 2005, in Carson City. She was born Aug. 2, 1917, in Fairbury, Neb., to Leland Stanford and Mollie O'Neal Brown.
She graduated from high school in Fairbury in 1935 and attended two years at the University of Nebraska.
She married Vern A. Bartow.
Before moving to Fernley, she lived in Whittier and LaMirada, Calif., for more than 40 years.
Mrs. Bartow was office secretary for a steel fabrication company for 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband May 13, 1984.
Among her survivors are her daughter, Pam Bartow Witt of Hesperia, Calif.; grandchildren Susan Witt Smith of Fernley, Stacey Witt Ransom of Buena Park, Calif., and Robert Witt and Steve Witt, both of Oceanside, Calif.; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of local arrangements.
