Concrete Expo set for March

The Sierra Nevada Concrete Association will present its Sixth Annual Concrete Expo from 8 a.m.

to 5 p.m.March 1 at Lawlor Events Center on the University of Nevada, Reno campus.

The event draws construction professionals, engineers, architects, estimators,managers and business owners.

Demonstrations will cover new concrete products, methods and technologies.

Sessions also cover subjects such as estimating, strategizing and effective personnel management as well as cost-saving innovations in concrete construction methods.

One session, for instance,will cover the techniques for placing concrete during cold weather.

Among speakers at the Concrete Expo will be Charles Vander Kooi, an author and consultant who has bid more than $1 billion in work during his career and now specializes in estimating and bidding systems.
