Construction on the first phase of a 15- building office project in South Meadows is slated to begin as soon as things dry out.
Initial buildings in Villaggio at South Meadows, which are scheduled for completion in June, include two 7,360-square-foot office buildings and a 3,448-square-foot building.
The project, developed by Villaggio South Meadows LLC, a group of northern Nevada investors, is on a nine-acre parcel along Double Diamond Parkway just north of its intersection with South Meadows Parkway.
Chris Martin, whose Reno South Meadows Commercial Properties is marketing Villaggio, said the purchaser of the first building in the project plans to develop executive suites.
The other two buildings to be constructed this spring are speculative, he said.
The pace of construction of the remaining 12 buildings will depend on sales activity.
Villaggio is targeted for users who want to purchase their own buildings, and Martin said prices start at $165 per square foot for shells ready for user improvements.
The project is unusual in the small sizes of some offices available for sale as small as 900 square feet.
Archidea, a Reno architectural firm, designed the Tuscan-inspired project with tile roofs and pastel exteriors.
Metcalf Builders of Carson City is the general contractor.
