Tom Burrous, who handles economic development duties for the City of Sparks, has been elected president of the Sparks Chamber of Commerce.
He succeeds John Mitchell,who resigned due to professional commitments, as well as his commitment to the National Guard.
Burrous, a chamber member for 18 years, has served on the organization's board for 10 years.He has served as the vice president of the chamber's Business Development Council, Marketing Council, and Community Affairs Council.
For the past four years, he also has been a co-chair of the chamber's Business Forum Committee.
