Reno-based Hometown Health, the health-insurance division of Washoe Health System, has received two awards from the Nevada Quality Alliance: the Pioneer Award for Performance Excellence, also known as the APEX award, and the Nevada Award for Workforce Development.

Endorsed by Governor Kenny Guinn to recognize continuous quality improvement by business, healthcare and other organizations in Nevada, the APEX award recognizes quality and organizational performance excellence.
Hometown Health was one of three businesses statewide to receive an APEX Special Recognition award, and the only one to receive the Nevada Award for Workforce Development.
This award recognizes excellence in workforce management, retention and training.
