Five Reno business people are among founders of a coalition that views construction of the Yucca Mountain project as inevitable and seeks to capture the maximum economic benefits for the state while ensuring public safety.
Founders of the group known as "For a Better Nevada" from Reno include Margaret Cavin, owner of J&J Mechanical; Rod Cooper, regional manager of Granite Construction Co.; Norm Dianda, president of Q&D Construction; T.J.
Day and Ranson Webster.
Chris Barrett, president of IW Strategies of Reno, has been hired as coordinator of the group.
