Washoe's Miller to head hospital group

Jim Miller, president and chief executive officer ofWashoe Health System, has been elected chairman of the Nevada Hospital Association Board of Directors for 2005.

He said the association's priorities for 2005 are three-fold: * Finding solutions to the issues both financial and medical raised by the growing number of people in the state who don't have medical insurance.

* Looking for ways to increase the number of medical professionals who graduate from Nevada schools or move to the state.

* Increasing the number of people covered by Medicaid and streamlining the Medicaid payment process.

Miller was named president and CEO of Washoe Health in 2000.
