Alan L.Austin has been named vice president of finance and chief financial officer of Sparks-based SulphCo Inc.
Austin served as vice president for finance and administration with the Desert Research Institution since 2000.
Previously, he was chief operating officer for administration and finance at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
He also was a management consultant with APQC Consulting Group and held management positions with Interpak Terminals and Chemtrusion Inc.
A graduate of Brigham Young University, Austin received his master's in business administration degree from the University of Houston.
