Washoe invests $67.3 million

Washoe Health System said last week its capital expenditures totaled more than $67.3 million in the fiscal year ended June 30.

Equipment expenditures included a positron emission tomography and computed tomography scanner and a biplane angiography machine for stroke care totaling more than $3 million.

Washoe Health also replaced heart lab equipment at an approximate cost of $1.6 million.

Fiscal year 2004 construction expenditures included $18.5 million on a South Meadows Washoe Medical Center diagnostic treatment facility.

In addition, the main campus intensivecare unit courtyard and same-day surgery registration area were upgraded at a cost of over $8.9 million.

An initial investment of $4.5 million was made in pre-construction work on the $240 million Patient Care Tower on the main campus.
