The following people were booked into Carson City jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:
• Johnny Manuel Ontiveros, a 22-year-old construction worker from Rosemead, Calif., was arrested at 7:55 p.m. Friday in the Carson City Jail on suspicion of felony assault on another prisoner. Bail was set at $20,000. According to police reports, Mr. Ontiveros said he had to beat up (the victim) to avoid getting beaten up by the other inmates himself.
• Joey Lee McFarland, a 26-year-old transient, was arrested at 2:14 a.m. Saturday in the 1600 block of Walker Street on suspicion of felony burglary. Bail was set at $25,000. Mr. McFarland allegedly broke into the camper shell of a pickup and stole an assortment of tools.
