A celebration of life for Edna Mockel "Oma" Perdomo, 89, a Carson City resident for the past 18 years, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Family, 1201 N. Saliman Road. A reception will follow the service in the fellowship hall.

Mrs. Perdomo died July 11, 2005, at Eagle Valley Care Center in Carson City. She was born July 21, 1915, in San Francisco to Anna and Henry Mockel.

She lived in San Francisco for 72 years before moving to Carson City in 1987.

She married Fred Charles Perdomo July 12, 1941.

Mrs. Perdomo worked as a secretary for Kahn's Department Store and was a senior clerk for Standard Oil Company in San Francisco. After her marriage, she and her husband worked in Mockel's Grocery on 20th and Hampshire streets in San Francisco for more than 30 years. They were featured in the San Francisco Chronicle as proprietors of the oldest family store in continuous ownership in the city at the time.

She was a 50-year member of San Francisco Chapter 155 OES and Past Matron. She was also a member of Esther Chapter 1 OES of Carson City, Natives and Newcomers and very active in St. Paul's Lutheran Family. She enjoyed playing bridge, knitting, crocheting, Eastern Star and vacationing at her cabin in the redwoods.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, in 1984; and sisters Pauline and Dorothy.

Among her survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Christine Perdomo; grandchildren Rick and Katie Perdomo; nephews and wives Rich and Sandra Peters, Ray and Maureen Laval, Joseph and Louise Laval and Wayne and Beverly Helfer; niece and husband Doris and Sam Pledger; nieces Paula Peters and Helen Helfer; two great-nieces; and two great-nephews.

Private burial will be at Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Francisco at a later date.
