A graveside service for Donald Hector Jardine, 77, a Gardnerville resident, will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Fredricksburg Cemetery in Alpine County, Calif.
Mr. Jardine died July 11, 2005, in Carson City.
He was born Sept. 1, 1927, in Quebec, Canada, to James and Agnes Gilmour Jardine.
He married Vera Olive Potter on Oct. 15, 1949, in Ottawa, Canada.
Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Markleeville, Calif.
Mr. Jardine was a miner, a surveyor, a prospector and a lumberjack.
He was preceded in death by sisters Jean Wishart May 7, 1962, and Mary Campball and brother, Samuel.
Among his survivors are his wife; sons Donald Muton of Markleeville and David James of Gardnerville; daughters Heather Louise Maule of Gardnerville and Elizabeth Vera Hawkins of Antelope, Calif.; brothers James David and Colin Douglas; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
