Construction begins in August on a new $850,000 alternative medicine and anti-aging clinic on Country Club Drive in North Carson City.

The Nevada Center for Alternative and Anti-Aging Medicine will move from a suite at 896 W. Nye Lane to the one-story, 6,000-square-foot building in the first quarter of 2006. The site is on a half-acre adjacent to the Silver Oak golf course clubhouse.

General contractor Mark Beauchamp, a co-owner of Shaheen Beauchamp Builders, said Friday that the clinic will have seven exam and treatment rooms.

Sub-contractors have not been selected yet. Hannafin/Darney is the architect on the project. Silver State Consulting is the civil engineer.

Dr. Frank Shallenberger practices at the Nevada Center, which is a full-service medical clinic offering treatment programs for patients of all ages. He treats the aging process with individualized programs targeted to increasing the length and quality of life, according to the clinic's Web site. Shallenberger could not be reached for comment Friday.
