Golden Phoenix Minerals of Sparks says it won approval from the Bureau of Land Management to begin dewatering and rebuilding an 1,800-foot tunnel at its Ashdown molybdenum mine north of Winnemucca.
The company said dewatering the tunnel built by a previous operator 23 years ago will take several weeks, followed by reconstruction of a collapsed section and construction of about 800 feet of new tunnel.
